Dr. Yarmolyuk started his orthodontic practice, Orthodontic Experts, right out of the residency. He dedicated every day of his professional life not only to improving his clinical skills and outcomes, but also to improving treatment efficiency and effectiveness, staff training, patient flow, and perfecting operations and systems, and increasing profitability of orthodontic practice. During the eight years in practice, he grew Orthodontic Experts to currently 15 locations in two states and still expanding strong. Dr. Yarmolyuk and his associate orthodontists are successfully treating thousands of orthodontic patients every year and are continually working on improving the systems and treatment efficiency.

In addition Dr. Yarmolyuk founded Illinois Dental Careers – a vocational school with the first ever orthodontic assistant training program approved by the Illinois Department of Higher Education. The school successfully trained hundreds of dental and orthodontic assistants.

Dr. Yarmolyuk’s passion is improving access to orthodontic care through increasing efficiency and outreach of care delivery. It’s completely unacceptable that in 21 century millions of people, even in the most developed countries, still don’t have easy access to orthodontic care. The lack of access to care can be both physical, not having an orthodontist nearby, and financial, not being able to afford high specialist fees. The key to improving access to orthodontic care is to spread the knowledge and give every dental professional the training, skills, and support they need to deliver care to their patients.

Dr. Yarmolyuk has been chastised by many orthodontists for spreading the knowledge, and “secrets” of orthodontic profession to general dentists. The comments he often hears are “you’re hurting our profession,” “you’re teaching dentists how to do ortho instead of referring it to us,” “aren’t you hurting your own bottom line?” However, he firmly stands by his believes that the primary reason for being in healthcare is to serve your patients and do what’s right for them. That’s why Dr. Yarmolyuk would rather give the dentists the knowledge and tools they need to deliver excellent care than withhold the information and let them get inferior orthodontic training and deliver substandard treatment. Dr. Yarmolyuk also has an “abundance mentality” and not a “scarcity mentality” like the other orthodontists who scold him. He believes that there’s plenty of patients for everyone as long as they can provide the care that patients need.
